Kids In Motion:
Date: May 4, 2011
Where/Who: Approximately 1,500 kids in the Rice Lake, Birchwood and Cameron public school districts and the St. Josephs parochial school in Kindergarten thru 5th grade.
What: The goal is to have the kids exercise for 30 minutes outside to teach them “Fitness is Fun”. Most sites featured kids walking with teachers, parents and other volunteers around an organized track. High school athletes also attended and mentored the elementary kids on being active.
Cost: Free
Other: Each participant was given a Frisbee and a take home packet. The take-home packet included an exercise log that could be used as an entry into the PLAY Fun Run.

PLAY Youth Run
Date/Time: June 14, 2011, 6:30pm
What: Approximately 40 kids participated in a ½ mile trail run prior to the Aquafest running events. Each participant received a medal.
 

Winter Fest (1st Annual)
Date/Time: December 30, 2010
Where: Rice Lake Middle School Cafeteria
Who: Area youth.
Cost: Free
What: The PLAY Foundation teamed up with the Boys and Girls Club of Barron County to host an event that encouraged winter activities. Over 40 kids participated in the event. Due to weather, the event included kickball, floor hockey, dodgeball, crafts and healthy snacks. Ten lucky participants received a scooter donated by the PLAY Foundation.
